Pick Your Priorities

In order to get into a study groove that works for you, it is essential to know your priorities. The problem is, many of us live such fast-paced lives that we rarely stop to reflect on how we’re really using our time. We may say we have our priorities in check, not realizing that we are actually running off course. How are you spending your time? Are you focusing on the “big things,” or are distractions and temptations pulling you away from your goals?

While there are many tools to help you identify your needs and trouble spots, one of the easiest is sketching out a priority matrix.

Priority Management

  • Start with a list of “must-dos.”
  • Move on to the “should dos.”
  • Then consider the “can do laters.”
  • Add in the “would like to-dos.”

It might look a something like this:

Knowing and setting priorities is a must for time management. Take a look at how you’re spending your time. It may be time to revise and refocus.
