Where's the calculator in the math course?

When you take a timed practice test in GED Academy, you can find the on-screen calculator in the top right corner of the screen. You will also have access to a TI-X30 calculator guide by clicking on the button that says “Calculator Help.” This guide shows you how the calculator functions work. For example, you can go through the calculator guide to find the key you need to use to enter fractions on the calculator.

There's no need to memorize math formulas since there’s a formula reference guide that you can use during the practice test and the official test. Click “Formulas " in the top right corner of the screen to use the formula reference sheet.

The on-screen calculator will appear on some of the GED test questions for which you are allowed to use a calculator. Non-calculator questions make up about 12% of the points on the math test.

For additional practice, the lesson "Using the TI-30XS Calculator" in GED Academy shows you how to use the TI-30XS calculator and review its functions! This lesson for the scientific calculator is found under the unit "Exponents and Roots."
