Essential Education Marketing Policy
Effective date: June 1, 2018 | Updated: September 9, 2025
Communicating with You
At Essential Education, we believe communication should be helpful, relevant, and respectful. We reach out to educators, administrators, and partners to share resources that support your work—never to overwhelm you with messages you don’t need.
You may hear from us for reasons such as:
- Invitations to free trainings, webinars, or professional development sessions
- Announcements about new solutions or features that can help you get more from the programs you already use
- Articles, blogs, and white papers with insights from the field
- Tips for maximizing your existing Essential Education resources
We do not market to children, and we never share or sell personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
Email Communication
If you’re not receiving our emails and would like to, you can subscribe at https://go.essentialed.com/educators/subscribe. To ensure messages reach you, please add us to your email whitelist.
We strive to make every message useful and relevant. For example, we sometimes track whether emails are opened so we can understand what content is valuable. If our emails aren’t helpful, you can manage your preferences or unsubscribe at any time—every message includes those options.
Interest-Based Advertising
You may see Essential Education ads on other websites based on your interests. This is called interest-based advertising. For example, if you visit our site to learn about GED or HiSET programs, you may later see an ad reminding you about those programs on another site.
How it works:
- We work with ad platforms that use cookies, web beacons, and other identifiers to measure ad effectiveness and understand possible interests.
- These ads are displayed only outside our learning products—they are never shown inside Essential Education programs.
- Our partners may also use technology to connect activity across devices or browsers to better tailor ads.
Please note: Even if you set your ad preferences to limit personalization, you may still see Essential Education ads online—they just won’t be based on your activity on our sites.
Other Types of Advertising
In addition to interest-based ads, we may run campaigns on other non-Essential Education websites, apps, and social networks. For example, school administrators on LinkedIn might see an ad for compliance documentation resources.
Please refer to the privacy policy of the website or app where an ad is shown for more information on that platform’s privacy practices and choices.
Social Media
When you interact with Essential Education on social media, the information you share is governed by the privacy policies of those platforms. Depending on how you engage, we may receive certain information, such as:
- If you follow or “like” Essential Education pages on social networks
- When you click links or interact with our content on social media
- Public information you choose to share on your social profile
We may use cookies or analytics tools to better understand engagement with our social content, but the collection and sharing of personal information is controlled by the social networking site you use. Please review the privacy policies of those platforms to understand their practices.
